Max Verstappen has always been a menace in Mexico when it comes to getting the results and this year was no exception. The Dutch driver was looking to score back to back wins at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez which he had no problem achieving. After the first three practice sessions, it looked like a battle for pole between Mercedes and Red Bull where Max took the honours and grabbed the top grid spot. From there onwards, he never looked back.

Slipstream is a crucial element to watch out for in Mexico. The Red Bull driver kept that in mind and had a brilliant start where he cut off the slipstream that the car behind was getting and further went on to retain P1 after the first few corners. Having never won in Mexico from pole, Max went on to change that as he cruised comfortably to get his 14th win of the season where he beat Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel’s record of 13 wins.

Verstappen stood on the top spot of the podium while Lewis Hamilton settled for P2. Home hero Sergio Perez completed the podium as he came third for the second consecutive time in Mexico City sending his fans into ruptures. Ferrari on the other hand had a bad weekend altogether and were nowhere near Mercedes and Red Bull and it is feared that this might be the case in the remaining few races of the season. Nevertheless the crowd in Mexico never disappoints. Here is how the fans reacted to the 2022 Mexican GP.

Verstappen took the 34th Grand Prix victory of his career as he claimed the top spot of the podium at the 2022 Mexican GP. After crossing the line, the 2 time world champion continues to be the most successful driver in Mexico with 4 wins to his name. With Sergio Perez in P3, it was a sweet weekend for the Bulls. With two races left on the calendar, will Max be able to change his record from 14 to 16 wins this season?
