Felipe Drugovich, the 2022 Formula 2 Champion has recently got his first taste of being the development driver of the Aston Martin F1 team and, afterward has sounded extremely upbeat about what lies ahead for him.
Felipe Drugovich has got his first opportunity in F1 on the back of doing a fantastic 2022 Formula 2 season where he was able to able to showcase his skills as a rating driver.
The 22-year-old was recently invited by Aston Martin to its base in Silverstone where he was familiarised with everything that goes on behind the scenes within the team and was introduced to many people.
Moreover, the Brazilian after his first day with the team sounded extremely optimistic and while talking about his experience said, “I’m in Silverstone with the team, I’ve been in the simulator today and also had my seat fit. I’m really excited about this, I’ve got to meet a lot of people, and new people within the team, and we are preparing a lot. I am very happy with the opportunity and looking forward to Abu Dhabi.”

Felipe Drugovich has got a bright future ahead of him

Felipe Drudgovich, at the moment, is only 22 years old and has got a decent chance of landing an F1 seat in the future years of the sport. Moreover, being in a development driver role will help the Brazilian further hone his skills as a racing driver so that he is fully prepared whenever an F1 opportunity comes knocking on the door.
Aston Martin has signed former World Champion Fernando Alonso on a multi-year deal from next season onwards, however, the Spaniard is 41 years old and his days of being a racing driver can come to an end in the next couple of years.
Whenever that happens, Drugovich being close to Aston Martin will help him in being one of the favorites to land the coveted seat on the Silverstone-based team.

Moreover, the landscape in F1 can change at any moment, and who knows the Brazilian might get his chance in the sport sooner than he would be expecting.
No matter how things pan out in the upcoming years of the sport for the Brazilian, one thing is for sure, he is going to learn a lot about F1 that will help him in all his future endeavors.
