The recent news headlines in the world of Formula 1 have all been about just a few specific reports–the sexual misconduct allegations against Christian Horner, the ingenious front wing design debuted by Mercedes in their 2024 challenger, and Lewis Hamilton‘s surprising shift to Ferrari that is scheduled for 2025. After spending over a decade as a true-blue Silver Arrows racer, Hamilton has mentioned that he had always dreamt of driving for Ferrari as a child. And thus, he will set towards Maranello at the end of the upcoming season, leaving a perfect seat at Mercedes empty.

Hamilton capturing a spot at Ferrari has resulted in Carlos Sainz Jr. currently spending his days with uncertainty as he does not have a regular driving seat in 2025. Meanwhile, Ferrari have renewed Charles Leclerc for a multi-year contract so that the young Monegasque and Lewis Hamilton can form a formidable pair that will aim for Championships on behalf of the Italian outfit. Meanwhile, Carlos Sainz Jr’s father is hard at work to secure a seat for his son at another top-performing team.

Just as Carlos’ contract with Ferrari with end in 2024, Sergio Perez will also see his deal with Red Bull expire at the same time. Checo has not yet been offered an extension on his existing contract, thus suggesting that his team is open to explore some options to replace him in 2025. Express Sports UK reports that Carlos Sainz Sr. was seen chatting with Red Bull team boss Christian Horner, Chief Advisor Helmut Marko and Chief Technical Officer Adrian Newey. This was perhaps to propose a lucrative deal between the current World Championship-winning team and the only non-Red Bull racer to win a Grand Prix in 2023.

Carlos Sainz Jr. has put Lewis Hamilton under the bus by discarding rumors that Ferrari approached him

At 39 years of age, Lewis Hamilton is now going to enter his 18th year in Formula 1 at a time when most racers retire from the pinnacle of motorsports. Still, the Briton shows no signs of slowing down as he has penned down a multi-year deal with Ferrari to drive alongside Charles Leclerc next year. And when this news broke out, most reports suggested that the Scuderia had pursued Hamilton for quite a while with an eye-watering deal offering a massive salary to the seven-time World Champion.

But according to Carlos Sainz, it was Lewis Hamilton who sought out a meeting with Ferrari to pitch his services to team rather than them pursuing him.

I think it is clear that when a seven-time world champion knocks on the door of a team like Ferrari, there will be interest and it is possible that the contract will eventually be confirmed.
Carlos Sainz said, as per GP Blog.

In other news, Carlos Sainz has been named as a top interest for Williams who might replace Logan Sargeant with the Spaniard in 2025. But till date, Sainz’s team has remained quite tight-lipped about his future prospects and hence none of the reports have been verified.
