Daniel Ricciardo, since joining McLaren, has been a shadow of his past self and has endured an extremely tough two years with the team. Moreover, after getting his contract with the team cut short by 1 year, he is without an F1 drive for 2023 and the current campaign could prove to be his last year in the sport.

The 33-year-old in the past few weeks has indicated that he is willing to sit out a year with the hope of getting back on the grid by 2024, however, sitting out a full year is an extremely risky ploy and not many are able to make a comeback.
