Red Bull’s Australian backup driver Daniel Ricciardo is one of the most renowned F1 drivers in the USA. His antics have now spread to Hollywood. During his latest tour, American music sensation Harry Styles took a page from Ricciardo’s book. He did a shoey during his concert at the HBF park, Australia, in front of 30,000 people. In the video, Styles was spotted drinking from his shoes, calling it one of the most disgusting traditions ever.
One of the many things Daniel Ricciardo is famous for is the shoe. The lad’s podium celebrations were incomplete without this ritual. He honored his podium finish by drinking champagne out of his sweaty shoes. This quickly became a celebration in Formula One, and other drivers like Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and Lando Norris were not spared from this. Even team principals like Christian Horner and McLaren boss Zak Brown took a sip of champagne from the shoes.
It was not long before this “shoey” celebration caught on to the others outside Formula One as well. Harry Styles gave the crowd what they wanted in his latest Australian tour, a good performance and a Ricciardo shoey. Ricciardo is undoubtedly famous in Australia, his fans adore him. During the Australian Grand Prix last season, fans were all over the grid rooting for him with huge cutouts of his face.

Daniel Ricciardo’s number-one fan could just be Harry Styles
It is quite difficult to dislike a cheerful personality like Ricciardo, it is no wonder that Harry Styles has some fondness for the driver. The Popstar was spotted wearing his merchandise last year, and the fans went bonkers. When this was brought up to Ricciardo, he admitted he was pretty stoked and also confessed that he has a mutual friend with Styles. But, unfortunately, they haven’t been able to meet yet.
The Ricciardo shirt Styles wore on sale during the Grand Prix in Austin, and he had been spotted wearing it on multiple occasions. This gesture by the pop icon led fans to speculate he supported the driver. Now with Harry Styles doing a shoey just like the Australian had done several times, fans were quick to react.
The world is familiar with Ricciardo’s shoey, but Harry Styles has taken after the driver. And it can only mean one thing – we are bound to see people celebrate by doing a shoey hereafter. Thanks to the 33-year-old Australian Formula One personality, this has also caught on to the others.
