Lewis Hamilton is a global icon. The British driver is one of the most successful drivers in the history of Formula 1. Moreover, the 38-year-old shares good relations with celebrities from around the world. As such, it was no surprise when some of the biggest names greeted Hamilton before the Abu Dhabi GP start.

The seven-time world champion was surrounded by multiple celebrities on the grid. A clip surfaced on X that showed Lewis Hamilton meeting his celeb friends before the race start. Chris Hemsworth and his brother Liam were one of the first big names to meet the seven-time world champion this weekend with renowned Indian actor Priyanka Chopra hugging the 38-year-old before the final race of the season.

Tennis icon Maria Sharapova was rooting for Hamilton this weekend. Sharapova has been a close friend of the seven-time champion and as such wanted him to have a good race at the Abu Dhabi GP. Several other big names were cheering for Lewis Hamilton for the season finale as the 38-year-old certainly remains the global F1 icon.

Despite having massive support from his friends this weekend, Lewis Hamilton’s struggles have continued. The 38-year-old has failed to get the most out of the Mercedes W14 at Yas Marina. With the seven-time world champion not even qualifying in the Top 10 for a second weekend in a row. However, Hamilton was looking to make some progress in the race.

The seven-time world champion needs to secure a good result at the final race of the season for his team. Mercedes is fighting for the runner-up spot in the standings with Scuderia Ferrari. As such, it is necessary for the 38-year-old to score some much-needed points for the Silver Arrows. However, Hamilton even made contact with the Alpine of Pierre Gasly.

Certainly, Lewis Hamilton would need to extract the most out of the car at the season finale. The seven-time champion has been vocal about his frustrations this season. Subsequently, the 38-year-old would be relieved once he crosses the chequered flag at the Abu Dhabi GP and says goodbye to the Mecedes W14.
