The F1 world saw its biggest transfer ever with Lewis Hamilton moving to Ferrari from the 2025 season. This makes it the last year of a Hamilton-Mercedes partnership that has stretched for more than a decade. While revealing the W15, the Briton was seen emotional as he entered his final year with the team.
Lewis Hamilton is the biggest name in the sport and he will be joining the biggest manufacturer in the sport’s history soon. The Englishman would be leaving a partnership that had amassed 82 race wins and 6 world championships. This had made the 39-year-old feel emotional and expressed his gratitude towards the Brackley-based squad.

The Briton explained that being with the team has been an emotional experience for him. The former champion wants to test out the car on the track and get behind the steering wheel one last time with the team he broke multiple records. The 39-year-old will bid farewell to the German manufacturer after the end of the season and will move to Maranello.

Who will be the team leader at Ferrari after the arrival of Lewis Hamilton?
With an incoming seven-time champion, one must wonder how the team dynamics would change after the arrival of the Briton. Marc Surer, a former Swiss F1 driver has given his views on the same.
Leclerc is a big problem for [Lewis Hamilton] because Leclerc will be faster. Anything else would surprise me. It reminds me a bit of the situation with Michael Schumacher during his comeback with Mercedes. A certain Nico Rosberg put him in his place. And Lewis Hamilton could feel the same way.Marc Surer said as reported by formula passion.it
The 82-year-old reckons that the young gun of Charles Leclerc at Ferrari would be leading the team. Both the drivers would be on the hunt for the title, whereas the Monegasque would be on the hunt for the 1st title, and the Briton would be fighting for that elusive 8th title.
This could make a repeat of Nico Rosberg and Hamilton’s rivalry that was in the Mercedes camp. To prevent such a fight, the team would have to make tough decisions so that both drivers don’t trip over each other.
