WATCH: Lando Norris has a sweet ‘birthday present’ for engineer’s mother after bagging podium in Imola
Lando Norris
Lando Norris didn’t enjoy the best of the starts to the season as McLaren struggled to get a competitive car on track. Bur, it seems like Imola GP could be the turning point in their season and help them become the best of the rest. Talking about the start, Bahrain GP was a total disaster from McLaren’s point of view. Both Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo looked far off from the pace and neither of them failed to register any points.
But, during that GP too, Lando Norris looked like the more likely to get a result than Daniel Ricciardo. But both drove back into form with a brilliant result at the Australian GP. Ever since Bahrain, McLaren has taken giant steps in the right direction and Imola substantiated that with Lando Norris bagging a surprise podium.
Although he look all set to finish P4 but a mistake from Charles Leclerc helped him win a podium. Lando Norris was understandably delighted with the result as he finished ahead of the much faster Ferraris. But something else also caught the eye after the race. The singing maestro gave the perfect gift to his engineer’s mum by singing the birthday song for her at the request of his engineer.

Lando Norris is this talented youngster but also is a very kind human being and this was a prime example of that. Lando Norris after the race said, “We worked so hard in Bahrain and got so little out of it, and we put even more effort into the last two races. It’s nice to see it paying off.”
“We’ve brought some small things – nothing which has just boosted us up into P3 [though].”
“The teamwork and the pit stops were amazing, I don’t think that today, and this weekend, was all about the car. It was how we executed the weekend that gave us this result.”
Lando Norris and McLaren had a perfect weekend barring the Daniel Ricciardo’s result. The team would like to build on it and go on to even challenge the likes of Mercedes this year around.
