Lewis Hamilton is an all-time Formula 1 great. The seven-time world champion has been passionate about cars and racing since his childhood. It is no surprise that the 38-year-old owns some rather expensive supercars and sportscars. Subsequently, fans have always been eager to know the Briton’s favorite road car. Now, Hamilton has finally revealed his current favorite car.

The seven-time world champion recently appeared in a video for Complex. The 38-year-old was asked about his various favorite objects be it jewelry or even cars. Lewis Hamilton mentioned that his favorite car at this moment was the ultra-exclusive Mercedes Maybach Virgil Abloh. This luxurious machine costs upwards of $600,000.

The Maybach Virgil Abloh was made in collaboration with fashion designer Virgil Abloh. Subsequently, the 38-year-old wanted to own a piece of Abloh’s legacy and hence got his hands on one. Though, Hamilton revealed that it was his connection with the American designer that allowed him to buy this rare machine. Abloh passed away in 2021.

Lewis Hamilton didn’t drive the Maybach Virgil Abloh after buying it

The Mercedes driver confessed that he didn’t drive his $600,000 machine. Rather, Hamilton ended up keeping the car inside his garage for some time. Nevertheless, the 38-year-old finally got behind the wheel of this rare car and has loved it since, even claiming it as the best Mercedes ever made. Moreover, Lewis Hamilton mentioned that it was the smoothest car to drive as if it was a cloud floating in the sky.

And I had the car arrive, and I just kept it in the garage and didn't use it. And I started driving it recently. It's the nicest car that I think Mercedes have ever made. Whilst it's a car that you should be driven in, I'm driving it all the time. It's like floating on the cloud.

The Maybach Virgil Abloh was available to purchase from April 2023. The car is based on a Mercedes-Maybach S680 and is packed with all the equipment one could ask for. Only 150 units were made available of this limited edition machine. Certainly, Lewis Hamilton cherishes this iconic luxurious machine.

Lewis Hamilton has one of the biggest car collections on the F1 grid. The 38-year-old even has supercars from Ferrari in his garage. However, it seems that the seven-time world champion likes to drive in luxury off the track considering his favorite Maybach Virgil Abloh. Fans would love to see Hamilton drive this expensive machine more often.
