WATCH: “It’s impossible” Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez undertake ‘The Laughing Challenge’
Sergio Perez with teammate Max Verstappen
Red Bull currently sit pretty on the top of the points table, 56 points ahead of Ferrari. While the Italian team’s missteps have contributed to that, there is no doubt that Red Bull have looked seriously strong this season, and Sergio Perez especially has looked a much better version of himself than he did last season.
Unfortunately for Perez, with two retirements in three races, he has been given a mountain to climb to still have a chance for the WDC. He is 19 points behind Leclerc and 57 behind Max Verstappen. Carlos Sainz has been given an even bigger mountain to climb, with him a further 18 points behind Perez. So while it looks like Perez doesn’t have much of a chance in the WDC, he is still going to be a major factor in the WCC.
Part of the reason for Red Bull’s success is the harmonious relationship between the two drivers. There is certainly mutual respect between the two, and that has been proven time and time again. The two have a good, even friendly relationship between each other, and that relationship translates onto the track.

The Laughing Challenge
In a video posted on Red Bull Racing’s official Youtube channel, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez undertook ‘The Laughing Challenge’ which, like its name, meant that one of them had to make the other laugh. If you laugh, you lose. To begin, it was Sergio Perez who won the first one, quite easily as well, with him making a ‘mwah’ sound while looking into Max Verstappen’s eyes being enough to have the Dutchman laughing very hard.
The next one was to pronounce the word: ‘Oachkatzlschwoaf’, which is Bavarian for the tail of a squirrel, and both of them passed that with flying colours. In the next one, they had to imitate a cow, on which both of them failed to hold their laughter. They also imitated each other winning a race, and Perez won that one, making Verstappen laugh with his impression.
The last challenge was to draw each other in 20 seconds, which they both, suffice to say, failed, and quite badly so, with Perez remarking that “We are happy that we are racing drivers.” Both of them were unable to hold their laughter, and Verstappen remarked that the last challenge was ‘impossible’.
