The 2023 F1 season is over. Max Verstappen came home to win the final race of the year in Abu Dhabi. The 26-year-old started off from pole and took an easy victory at the Yas Marina Circuit. Unsurprisingly, the three-time world championship wanted to end his season with a classic burnout for fans at the Abu Dhabi GP.

Verstappen crossed the chequered flag in first place after a dominant drive. After celebrating his victory on the team radio with Red Bull team boss Christian Horner, the Dutchman decided to burn some rubber. Max Verstappen swiftly began to do donuts on the start-finish straight at Yas Marina to end the season in style.

The three-time world champion’s car was covered in smoke as he celebrated the most dominant season in F1 history. As the Red Bull RB-19 spun around in smoke, fireworks took over the sky in Abu Dhabi. Subsequently, a clip posted on X showcased the perfect spectacle of Max Verstappen doing donuts with fireworks in the backdrop.

Max Verstappen’s 2023 season was the most dominant in F1 history

Max Verstappen had the most successful season for any driver in F1 history this year. The Dutch driver took a record-breaking nineteen race wins over the course of the season. Additionally, the three-time world champion became the first driver to lead over 1000 laps in a single season. Certainly, a massive feat for the Red Bull champion.

The Dutch driver set multiple records this year as he performed in a league of his own compared to rivals. Verstappen ended the season with a massive lead of 290 points over teammate Sergio Perez as the Mexican driver scored 285 points this year. Although, Red Bull could only secure a single 1-2 finish this season which was at the opening round in Bahrain.

Certainly, Max Verstappen had his best season in F1 this year with a historic performance. However, the Dutch driver understood that such a year would be hard to replicate for Red Bull. As such, the Milton Keynes-based team would be working extensively during the winter break to try and continue its dominance next season.
