The Red Bull F1 team has been ruling over the pinnacle of motor racing for the last few years. While the team has received massive praise for its on-track activities, it has also been the flag bearer in the last few years for doing peculiar/exciting PR activities. The most recent that they have done is the pitch-black F1 pitstop.

Red Bull pulled off the fastest pitstops on average across the 2023 F1 season, and in the process of doing so, they beat Ferrari and McLaren in the standings this year. As a celebration of their sixth consecutive triumph, they have recently done the first-ever F1 pitstop that was done in pure darkness.

However, the task was not an easy one as just after three practices using blindfolds, the twenty-two-member pit crew was then fully plunged into darkness in a dark factory, with their helmet visors also blacked out. Moreover, it has also come to light that while the tire change crew operated blind, its front and rear jack operators and the driver wore night vision devices that were provided by the military.

While talking about the daring PR stunt, Red Bull’s sporting manager, Jonathan Wheatley told Motorsport;

The sense of sight, being able to see the car, your team-mates and what you are doing is intrinsic to a successful pitstop, so having that taken away presented some serious hurdles.

Red Bull could keep on dominating F1 until the end of 2025

While everything has been going in favor of Red Bull since 2022, there is a very good chance that they could continue their dominance at the pinnacle of motor racing at least until the end of 2025. Their on-track might is also one of the reasons why the Milton-Keynes-based team has been pushing itself with its PR activities.

Max Verstappen has taken the name of the Red Bull F1 team to heights that they have never seen before and the decision-makers around the team want to make the full use of it. Under the current set of regulations, Red Bull is the top dog and things could stay the way they are until the end of 2025.

Red Bull has decimated all its rivals for the last few years and has scored world championships for fun. During the recent campaign, they stepped up their game massively, and considering this, much of the same would be expected by its fans during the 2024 F1 season.
