The Las Vegas GP is arguably the biggest F1 event in recent history. The sport has invested almost half a billion dollars to create a marvelous spectacle in Sin City. Some of the biggest celebrities are attending the inaugural Vegas race including UFC star announcer Bruce Buffer. Buffer introduced the 20 F1 drivers at the circuit. However, the legendary announcer shared an uneasy interaction with Red Bull’s Sergio Perez.

Buffer called the Mexican driver in a loud and exciting announcement. Checo greeted the 66-year-old with a big smile. However, a clip surfaced on X which showed that the two men were clueless from then on. Sergio Perez was happy to meet the famous UFC announcer with both nodding to one another. Unfortunately, Perez simply looked around the grid with hands in his pockets.

Certainly, this made for an awkward interaction between the two stars. Bruce Buffer seemed lost for words and looked back into his script. Subsequently, Sergio Perez slowly walked to his slot on the grid alongside other drivers. While Buffer went on to introduce the next driver on the list, the three-time world champion Max Verstappen.

The 33-year-old admitted that this strategic call might’ve led to his knockout in Q2. The Mexican driver will start the race from outside the Top 10 in the streets of Sin City. Subsequently, Sergio Perez would be looking to make up some places at the start of the Las Vegas GP to do some damage limitation this weekend.

On the other hand, Max Verstappen starts the race from the front row. The Dutch driver would be looking to take yet another race win at the penultimate round of the season. However, it remains to be seen if Sergio Perez could manage to get himself on the Las Vegas GP podium after a difficult outing in Qualifying.
