Steve Carell, the actor who has played the iconic character of Michael Scott in The Office, was spotted in the Red Bull camp at the Dutch GP today. As witty as his character is, Carell gave a hilarious interview to Sky F1 ahead of the race.
As most of the celebrities of Carell’s stature would be seen in races like Miami or Silverstone, Carell revealed that he is attending the Dutch GP as he was on vacation with his family in the country and thought this was the perfect opportunity to attend his first F1 race. Carell was very enthusiastic about the atmosphere on the track, calling it ‘electric’.
Carell also revealed that he supports Max Verstappen for the race, joking that anyone who does not support the ‘hometown boy’ is an idiot. He said, “We’re all best friends at this point. I’m an honorary member of the Red Bull team. You have to root for the hometown boy, right? I mean, otherwise, you’re an idiot.”
He was also asked about his thoughts on the Las Vegas GP. Carell said that the atmosphere will be different there, as everyone will be in a party mood due to the city’s reputation.
“It will be a different atmosphere. Everyone will be losing money gambling while the race happens. There will be slot machines at every seat… I’m sure it’s going to be incredible and exciting,” Carell told Sky F1.

The Dutch GP holds high stakes for many of the drivers on the grid. But for Max Verstappen, it is one of the most important races of his career as he is competing to equal Sebastian Vettel’s record of nine consecutive victories. As celebrities like Steve Carell come to his support, fans have reacted hilariously to Carell’s interview with Sky F1 just before the race started.
While Verstappen’s fans have shown their enthusiasm after Carell showed his support for the Dutchman, the rival fans are also very disappointed since Carell is adored by everyone worldwide. Many fans got the opportunity to meet him on track and have expressed their excitement on Twitter as well.
Carell has starred in various projects like The Office, Despicable Me, 40-Year-Old Virgin, and Call Me By Your Name. His support amongst the many fans attending the race will be necessary for Verstappen as he looks to take his 11th victory this season.
