Valtteri Bottas is having a blast during the winter break. Bottas has spent the last few weeks in the southern hemisphere and even taken on a new look. Valtteri is a passionate cyclist and has regularly gone on cycling expeditions. F1 drivers need to stay at optimal fitness levels and riding a bike is certainly a great way. As Bottas spends his time in New Zealand, the Finn shared an outstanding accomplishment.
Valtteri Bottas shared his last cycling ride in 2022 on new year’s eve on Instagram. Bottas was accompanied by former F1 driver Brendon Hartley alongside his spouse Sarah. Tiffany Cromwell, a professional Kiwi cyclist also joined in on this trip. The group went mountain biking near Lake Taupo in New Zealand. Additionally, Valtteri was wearing a shirt printed with the Victoria Bitter symbols, a nod to Finn’s new favorite beer.
Bottas achieved his goal of cycling an incredible 7777.7km in 2022. This called for a deserved celebration and that’s exactly what Valtteri Bottas did. The Finn uploaded a video of taking a shot after achieving his target. Bottas raised his arms in the air with ‘Hey Look Ma, I made it,’ playing in the background. Definitely the coolest way of celebrating such a marvellous feat. The entire crew joined in on the fun with the Finn posting a picture of four shot glasses.

Valtteri Bottas decided to end the year in the island nation of New Zealand. Recently, Bottas also caught up with some of the best Kiwi racing drivers such as Mitch Evans. However, fans had missed the presence of Brendon Hartley from that get-together, but now fans can rejoice as Valtteri got the chance to meet the former Toro Rosso driver alongside wife Sarah.
Previously, Bottas had got in grips with his Australian side and now it seems that Valtteri is embracing an inner Kiwi. Following the time spent in New Zealand, Valtteri Bottas has become familiar with the Kiwi way of conversations. As, in one video, Valtteri and his companions can be seen uttering the term, ‘Grouse.’ This slang is used down under’ as a way of calling something excellent. It sure describes Bottas’s trip accurately.
Of course, it is great to see Valtteri Bottas enjoying his time away from F1. Bottas had a mediocre season at Alfa Romeo in 2022 due to an uncompetitive car. However, pressure will be catching up to the Finn as Audi looks to exert its influence on the Swiss team before its entry in 2026. Bottas has stated his desire to stay with the team during Audi’s arrival. Thus, Valtteri will be looking to step up his game in the oncoming season and solidify his place in the team.
