Lewis Hamilton is regarded as the most decorated Formula One racer in history with records that could rival any of the other stalwarts that F1 world worship. Apart from winning laurels, as the only Black driver in a sport that is heavily dominated by Europeans and has zero Black representation apart from Lewis till date, the Briton from Stevenage has contributed largely towards improving inclusivity in the pinnacle of motorsports. Now, earning over $55 million a year from Mercedes and with a net worth of $285 million, Hamilton is regarded as one of the highest-paid athletes of all time.

With all of Lewis Hamilton’s humongous records, awards, and even a Knighthood in sight, it becomes quite difficult to imagine him as an awkward juvenile karting racer who once dreamt of entering the big leagues in future. Even then, the fans were taken back to Lewis’ younger days because of a video that surfaced on the popular social media platform X. It showed one of his older interviews from back when he used to race in the junior categories. The Spanish interviewer, who seemed to be Lewis’ age, asked him about his aspirations for the future and the answer seems quite fitting now.

Hopefully race in Formula 1.

Since then, many years have gone by and Lewis Hamilton is now the most successful Formula 1 driver in history in terms of Grand Prix wins. Even though he has failed to win a single race in the past 2 years, his record of 104 wins has gone unbeaten as of now. The 38-year-old even renewed his contract with Mercedes in 2023, shushing all his critics who claimed he should retire now. It now seems Lewis is set upon winning his eighth World Championship before finally hanging up his boots once and for all.

Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes Boss Toto Wolff gives war cry as he wants to aim for Championships

Mercedes have been the sole top team in Formula 1 during the turbo-hybrid era of the sport. But just as the new regulations rolled in in 2022, their dominance seemed to fall apart as Red Bull became the new frontrunners. The last time the team managed to snatch the World Constructors’ Championship title was in 2021, and the last time any of the Silver Arrows racers won a Grand Prix was in 2022. These statistics are quite concerning for Mercedes, but their Team Boss refuses to back down.

Toto Wolff commented on his wishes for his team in 2024 as he made it clear that winning the World Championship is his only aim.

I want to see it as a testament for the strengths of the team that we are capable to recover and race for championships. That's our clear objective.
Toto Wolff said, via Mirror.co.uk.

In other news, Toto Wolff was seemingly in some trouble with the FIA. The rule making body suddenly placed him and his wife under investigation for ‘conflict of interests’ under the suspicion that they were privy to insider information about the Formula One Management. Even though the FIA dropped the investigation later on, Toto Wolff confirmed he will be legally pursuing the matter to see whose allegations instigated the investigation in the first place.
