It’s been a horrible start to the season for Daniel Ricciardo as he has been able to score point in only one race out of the five. While Lando Norris has been able to string together some results for McLaren, things have just gone from bad to worse. Coming at the back of a decent season last year, Zak Brown would have expected him to launch from there and show his capabilities which has brought him all the recognition.

McLaren is fourth in the championship and eyeing to snatch that third place from Mercedes who themselves are struggling to fire up that W-13. But, in order to do that, it’s imperative for both the drivers to score points on a consistent basis. Apart from that result at the Australian GP, it’s been a sad state of affairs for Daniel Ricciardo. It’s about time for him roll up his sleeves and get down to business.

The Australian has not been able to get the best out of the car but, at the same time, the MCL-36 hasn’t been that quick either. We all know how immensely talented a driver Daniel Ricciardo is and might just be a race away to get back to his sparkling best. It seems like Ricciardo’s wishes have been answered as McLaren looks all set to bring it updates which could very well put them in the hunt for big points at the Spanish GP.

Daniel Ricciardo was excited after McLaren revealed the news of the upgrades. The Australian said, “We are bringing some upgrades to the car for the weekend.”

“I know it’s been an extremely busy week or so for many of the teams making changes ahead of Barcelona so it’s going to continue to be a tight fight for points.”

“We performed well at this track in pre-season testing so it will be interesting to see how our car will perform with the upgrades we’ve made since then.

“Hopefully we can have some good battles and get both cars back into the fight for good points.”

The performance of McLaren will be decided on how well Daniel Ricciardo performs because Lando Norris has made us believe that he can perform consistently. He would need a helping hand from his team mate to help McLaren secure that third place.
