Guenther Steiner, the Haas Team Principal, has recently made it known that Haas is extremely close to deciding on its driver line-up for 2023 and could potentially come out with an announcement before the upcoming Brazilian Grand Prix.

The Nico Hulkenberg and Mick Schumacher saga has carried on for quite some time, but it seems it is close to coming to an end.

While the rumor mill has been going berserk since Steiner said that both Mick and Nico are going to have a 50 percent chance, recently the weight has shifted in favor of the latter.

However, nothing definitive has come out of the Haas camp, and Steiner while addressing the second seat added, “For me, it’s no longer about one race, one lap. For me, it’s about what’s best for the Haas team in the medium to long term.”

The Haas Team Principal has made it clear that the team is looking at the bigger picture rather than making its decision based on one or two races.

Guenther Steiner has been extremely busy answering the media questions based around the 2023 Haas seat and while the Italian-American hasn’t been able to catch a breath, he has admitted that Mick Schumacher has gotten better.

While stressing about the 23-year-old’s performance, Steiner added, “stable, he’s definitely gotten better.

Steiner sees improvement in the performances of Schumacher but nothing can be said for certain, as he has got the experienced Hulkenberg as competition for next year, the seat can go either way.
