Christian Horner the Red Bull Team Principal ahead of the Belgium Grand Prix has talked about the peculiar situation where Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen are going to be starting the race from the back of the grid.

The enigmatic duo has taken engine penalties for Spa and Christian Horner feels the upcoming predicament will make the racing extra special considering both will have to make their way up from through the rest of the pack.

Red Bull and Ferrari both have got the pace to breeze past the cars starting ahead of them and Spa is a circuit that supports overtaking. The two teams have strategically decided to take their inevitable penalties in Belgium as they both see the circuit as the perfect opportunity to get the engine penalties out of the way.

With Max and Charles starting from the back, it is going to be up to Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz to give their respective teams a good start during the race, whether they will be able to do it or not remains to be seen.

Christian who has a wealth of experience when it comes to Formula One sees the upcoming race as an enticing affair, as the two front runners in the Championship are starting from the back.

Moreover, Max and Charles would want to score as many points as possible and Horner while dwelling over the predicament, said, “Looks like we’re going to see two races, It’s going to be fascinating. Checo won’t be taking any penalties, we assume that Sainz and the Mercs won’t be. So we should be seeing those four guys at the front and the other two coming through the pack and seeing how far they can get.”

Christian Horner has stressed that Spa will see two races and considering the starting positions of Red Bull and Ferrari drivers, the Brit is certainly right in his assessment as it will be fascinating to see how the drivers will perform during the race.
