Christian Horner the Red Bull team Principal ahead of the Silverstone Grand Prix has brought everybody’s attention to Mercedes by indicating that the silver arrows have a big upgrade coming for the British Grand Prix.

Red Bull has been the best team so far during the 2022 season and after 9 rounds is currently sitting pretty on top of both the F1 Championships. The Milton-Keynes team’s domination is evident from the fact that they have managed to win the last six races in a row.

However, ahead of this Sunday’s British Grand Prix Horner has suggested that they are keeping close tabs on Ferrari and especially on Mercedes who are rumored to bring big upgrades.

While talking about the two Horner has said, “We’ve seen Ferrari at tracks like Barcelona be strong. We’re hearing of a big upgrade for Mercedes as well,”

As things stand, Red Bull has a big lead over Ferrari and Mercedes in the Championship and even if Mercedes is going to bring an upgrade, it is very unlikely that they would be able to challenge the RB18.

Red Bull’s package this season has been too strong for most of the teams and the only team that has been able to come anywhere near them is Ferrari. Mercedes is already out of the Championship picture.

Max Verstappen is currently at the top of the Driver’s Championship with 175 points to his name and given that the upcoming race is Silverstone, where last year Verstappen went into the barriers, Horner was asked to give his views and the Brit said, “He’s arriving back at Silverstone as the reigning world champion, he’s leading the driver’s championship. “

However, the 48-year-old feels that Formula One is an unpredictable sport and is therefore not taking the challenge of Ferrari and Mercedes lightly for the upcoming weekend.

Our focus is on getting the best out of the weekend, the best out of the car, and seeing how we fare against our opponents.”
