Carlos Sainz
Carlos Sainz had a decent first day behind the wheel of the F1-75 in Belgium and after Friday, has indicated that he is in a good place building up to today’s all-important qualifying.
Carlos Sainz was the fastest man on the circuit during FP1, however, was not able to keep hold of it during FP2 and slipped down to P5 to end his first day back at the office.
It was a mixed day for the Spaniard but despite that, the Ferrari man is confident about his chances at the famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit.
Moreover, just like the other 19 drivers, the 27-year-old did qualifying runs and was also able to test the long-run pace of the F1-75. After his on-track exploits, Sainz said, “Overall it was a good Friday, In FP1 I felt comfortable with the balance of the car. For FP2 we tried some changes which didn’t really work as expected and we lost the feeling a bit.”
Carlos Sainz has made it pretty clear that the setup changes the team did after FP1 did not work on his car as he lost a bit of feeling and states it as one of the reasons behind tumbling to P5.

Carlos Sainz believes he can perform at a high level during the Belgium GP
Ferrari is currently trailing Red Bull in both the Championships and with Charles Leclerc starting from the back of the grid, the duty to provide the team with a good start falls on the shoulders of Sainz who has not taken any engine penalties.
However, the first task for him is going to be to finish today’s qualifying as high up as possible so that the team is in good stead for the race. Sainz while dwelling over what lies ahead said, “However, I’m confident we know where to find the lap time for tomorrow and the long run pace was also ok, so I believe we are in a good place for the rest of the weekend.”
Carlos Sainz is extremely confident about his chances during the upcoming Qualifying as he believes he has identified places on the circuit where he can find the crucial lap time and has further stressed that the long run pace is also great on the F1-75.
The Spaniard has got all the tools at his disposal to get a solid result at the Belgium Grand Prix and considering that both Max and Charles are starting from the back of the grid, the upcoming race is Sainz’s opportunity to score another race win this season.
