Lewis Hamilton the former 7-time Formula One World Champion has struggled with the W13 that he has been given for the 2022 season and has found it difficult to go up against his rookie teammate George Russell.
The brit is currently on 28 points after the first three races of the season whereas his teammate George Russell has managed to better acquaint himself with the W13 and is on 37 points in the driver’s standings.
As per Marc Gene Lewis Hamilton is not very happy with the situation and has said, “We can see that Lewis is living this situation badly.”
“It is easy to get used to a situation of improvement, it is different when you take a step back. Russell is also really strong, a very high-level rider.”
Gene believes that during the turbo-hybrid era it was all about improving for Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes, however, since the start of the new era in Formula One the mighty Mercedes has struggled and as per Gene Hamilton is not very pleased with the situation.
Lewis Hamilton has got a tough nut to crack in George Russell
Lewis Hamilton has been a bit off the pace that George Russell has been able to show in the first three races of the season and the Formula One paddock, the most common belief is that Hamilton has found it difficult to cope with the W13 whereas his teammate Russell has managed to better get to grips it.
During the Saudi GP Hamilton was knocked out after the Q1 session of Qualifying whereas his teammate Russell was able to make it to Q3 and was able to land his W13 in P6 at the end of qualifying.
The result came as a surprise to everyone and raised quite a few eyebrows Up and Down the paddock.
In Australia, the Mercedes team had a better weekend where George finished P3 and Hamilton P4, given the promising outing the team had at the last race, Hamilton and Co would be looking to build on the performance during this weekend’s Imola Grand Prix.
It will be fascinating to see how the Mercedes duo will cope with the competition in Imola and more interestingly who among the two would be able to get the bragging rights at the end of the race.
