“We do everything according to the regulations,” Guenther Steiner hits back at allegations of Haas being the ‘White Ferrari’

Guenther Steiner

Guenther Steiner and Haas have been on fire in the first three races following a horrific pre season which saw them deal with all sorts of problems. The American decided to sever ties with their team sponsor, Uralkali, and also dropped their Russian driver, Nikita Mazepin, following Russia’s decision to invade Ukraine. Haas wanted to start afresh after a disappointing 2021, but that wasn’t the case.

We all expected things to go south from there on but the return of ex-Haas driver, Kevin Magnussen, sparked a change in the fortunes of the American team. The Danish driver has looked in his element right from the get go and scored some valuable points for the team. While Mick Schumacher has struggled to come to grips with the car, that hasn’t been the case with Kevin Magnussen who has adapted like a fish to water following his return.

But, when it seemed like everything was going to plan, Guenther Steiner has to deal with another headache. Without naming teams, it’s been speculated that three of Alpine, McLaren, Aston Martin and Mercedes have raised issues over Haas having links to Ferrari. The American team has Ferrari as its engine partners. Although it is pretty clear that teams are not allowed to share information but the teams want to be clear of the relationship between the two.

Following the accusations, Guenther Steiner has come out and clarified that there’s nothing for them to hide. He said, “It is not even frustrating it’s just like again the same.”

“We do everything according to the regulations. I said to the FIA: Guys, please come and check every day because we are doing everything according to the rules.”

“I don’t get frustrated anymore, I just get used to it so it’s normal. Andreas doesn’t run the FIA unfortunately, so he can suggest it but there is a governance in place which will define it as much as he wants to run it.”

“It’s just there is governance in place which certain people think they can change everything by just speaking. I don’t think that is going to happen.”

Guenther Steiner’s team, Haas, has definitely looked a class apart in the first three races of the season and let’s hope that noise from outside doesn’t affect their performance on the track.
