“We got done by the officials,” Guenther Steiner blasts F1 for Haas’ woes at Monza

Guenther Steiner, the Haas Team Principal, has claimed that during the Italian Grand Prix, his team’s exploits were compromised by the decisions that the officials made during the race.
The Haas drivers, Mick Schumacher and Kevin Magnussen finished 12th and 16th at the Autodromo Nazionale Circuit but Steiner believes the duo could have finished higher had a few decisions gone in their favor.
Kevin Magnussen was put on the back foot by the officials on the very first lap of the race after getting penalized with a 5-second penalty for leaving the track and gaining an advantage at the first chicane.
The penalty was imposed, despite the Dane getting hit by Valtteri Bottas. While talking about the unfortunate incident, Steiner said, “The thing about this race is basically we got done by the officials.“
“Kevin had an incident at the start where he got shoved off and his diffuser was damaged.”
“He got a penalty because he couldn’t stay on the racing line but with the rear wheels up it’s difficult to stay on the racing line – I don’t think the penalty is appropriate.”

Guenther Steiner is not happy with the ending of the Italian Grand Prix
Max Verstappen secured his 11th race win of the season at Monza but the race is known more for the way it ended. Daniel Ricciardo triggered a safety car during the closes stages of the race and the race directors decided to bring the race to an end under the safety car.
The controversial ending has split the F1 paddock into two and Guenther Steiner feels that the ending of the race was not ideal for the fans and the participating teams.
While stressing over it Steiner added, “I don’t think I need to discuss the end of the race because what happened, happened and it wasn’t handled how it should’ve been.”
“Elsewhere, Mick did a fantastic job to get P12 considering his lack of time on track this weekend and our expected pace at this circuit.”
Guenther Steiner is not pleased with the ending of the race but is somewhat satisfied as he feels Haas was not as competitive as they would have liked at the Temple of Speed.
