“We have introduced two new PUs for Charles Leclerc,” Mattia Binotto offers encouragement ahead of British GP

Compared to their bombarding start to the 2022 season of Formula 1 Championship, Ferrari have certainly fallen back in the ranks as their closest rival, Red Bull, has climbed up the charts to take the top spot in the Constructors’ Championship standings. With some awful reliability issues that hampered quite a few races for Charles Leclerc where he qualified in the pole position, Ferrari have lost out on se precious Championship points already, and now that we are nine races into this year’s F1 season, the Maranello outfit simply cannot make any more mistakes.
In such a situation, there seems to be news from Ferrari’s garage that reveals there will be two new power units ready for Charles Leclerc as he will step into the Silverstone Grand Prix for a shot at winning the British race this time. As of now, Charles Leclerc, who was initially leading the Championship table, has dropped to the third place after both the Red Bull racers–Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez outscored him.
Ferrari is providing Charles Leclerc with new power units after back-to-back DNFs
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix proved to be a tough one for Ferrari as they could not get any of their drivers into the top 5 because they both succumbed to technical problems with their cars, and had to retire from their Baku campaign. In the Canadian Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc started from the back of the grid due to a penalty that he incurred but then he make his way up the ranks and finished P5.
Even then, it was an upsetting result for the was a tough time for Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc as the Monegasque is now 49 points behind reigning World Champion and the current Championship leader Max Verstappen. Seeing the dire situation, Ferrari know very well they have to help Charles Leclerc as he is their sole hope for securing the Drivers’ Championship victory. Thus, Mattia Binotto has revealed, “We’ve introduced two new PUs for Charles Leclerc. Now we’ve got fresh power unit for the next races,” he pointed out. “We’ve got four races to the summer break that will be important for him, where he can attack and try to recover some points if he can.”
