Helmut Marko has been with the Red Bull Formula One team for a long time and has recently compared the dominant Sebastian Vettel era with that of Max Verstappen’s current supremacy.

Helmut Marko has further indicated that the 24-year-old has every chance of thrashing the record of thirteen race wins in a season that is held jointly by Vettel and Michael Schumacher.

The current Aston Martin driver was able to win thirteen races during the 2013 season and it marked the final year of the German’s four-year dominance in the sport. Michael Schumacher, on the other hand, managed the impressive feat back in 2004 when Ferrari was the top dog in the sport.

The 2022 Formula One season is 14 races down and, from them, Max has already amassed 9 race wins that have put him in a very good position to hunt down the 13 race wins record.

Moreover, there are still eight races left this year, and considering the form that the 24-year-old has shown, there are very good chances that he would be able to go past or at least equal the record.

Helmut Marko has recently revealed that Red Bull is extremely happy with what Max has done this season, and feels if he is able to equal the 13 race wins record, then it would bring him more satisfaction as compared to the jubilation he experienced when Sebastian Vettel did it.

While praising Max, Marko said, “We haven’t seen dominance like that since then. This time, we have strong opposition, with Vettel, we mainly raced against Ferrari, one year against McLaren but here we race against Ferrari and Mercedes so we are satisfied and we are really proud.”

Red Bull has got a package this year that the other teams have found extremely difficult to cope with and considering the dominating outing of Max Verstappen in Belgium, it is going to be quite a ride to see the Dutchman chase after the 13 race wins record.
