Simone Resta, Haas’ technical director has revealed that he focuses on his job rather than the rival teams’ complaints.

Haas had one of the most amazing upgrades this season, and performed way better than they did in the entire 2021 season, scoring 10 points in Bahrain, the first race after Kevin Magnussen finished 5th. This comeback of his was dubbed as a “Viking comeback” by the team.

However, it is not just Kevin Magnussen whose amazing driving skills have made Haas score points, it is also the development of the car which has enabled them to be competitive against the mid-field cars.

Upon this improvement, all teams on the field are surprised, and a few question about the legality of the car, and the legality between the relationship between Scuderia Ferrari and Haas, since both the teams share a technical relationship, and Haas use Ferrari’s engine, giving them the name of “white Ferrari.” Toto Wolff, team principal of Mercedes has been most vocal for the investigation of the team.

Although there is much pressure from other teams, Simone Resta, Haas’ technical director has stated that he is unbothered by all this; “You know, honestly, I just care about my job, the job we’re doing with a car, trying to improve it, and trying to give a better car to the drivers,” Simone Resta said, as reported by Motorsport.

Following up on the 2021 season, Haas has of course done an incredible job in improving their car, and so most of the teams are getting sketchy about this.

“All those things are on a different level from where I operate at the moment. We know the rules we need to respect, we respect them, and we move forward. There’s not much to say.” stated Simone Resta about the legality of the car.

Simone Resta also said that you can look up and down the grid, there are many cars that look similar and that all teams should focus on their car.

There have been reports about Guenther Steiner, the team principal wanting the team to rush for upgrades in the car, but to this Simone said that the car has a lot more potential, and they would wait for the “right time” to install those upgrades, stated PlanetF1.

“I can only agree about what Guenther says and I understand his position in the way that yes, the cars are so different from last year, the tyres are different, so there’s a lot to learn,” said Resta.

Ahead of the Miami Grand Prix, Haas stand 8th in the constructors’ championship with 15 points, all of them scored by Kevin Magnussen.
