“We struggle at high-speed points,” Mike Krack reveals the reason behind Aston Martin’s trouble during Austrian GP Qualifying

Mike Krack finally opens with the struggles of Aston Martin in the last few races regarding Qualifying speed. Aston hasn’t made it up to Q2 in the last two races and is having troubles with the balance for the pace they need in qualifying. Likes of four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel is starting last for the race ahead and Lance Stroll near him. But things looked different when the car landed for the main race.
Aston hasn’t been performing their best since Canada, the best position they have managed since then is P17, disqualified in Q3. The same thing happened in Silverstone and Austria when both the Aston’s were out in Q3. But they have still managed great comebacks to in the main race scoring points in Canada and Silverstone. Mark Krack broke down the question of why hasn’t Aston been able to perform well in qualifying with a quality pace in the race.
“We struggle at high-speed points in Austria there are four corners to go through at high speed, and on a lap that lasts just one minute and 10 seconds, it was clear from the start that we would be in trouble, ” admitted Mike Krack.

Mike Krack doesn’t expect much from France GP
Paul Ricard also has speed corners which means Aston would still struggle evenly in France as it did earlier. Mike Krack doesn’t have much hope for the France GP qualification too and the reason stays the same.
“We will have to thoroughly analyze what we can do up to Paul Ricard and try to make one or two changes to increase the pace of the car. Also in France there are high-speed sections, perhaps a little less during the lap, but still too many to be able to stay in front, ” said Mike.
Aston is currently P9 on the championship table with 18 points in their bag. Martin shows decent pace on the main event fighting the Haases and McLaren a number of times but they lag the valuable lab times that lead to a higher grid position for them to fight in the deep midfield.
