Max Verstappen since stepping into F1 has taken the sport by storm, and with the Brazil GP next up on the 2022 F1 calendar, we are going to take a look at the Dutchman’s prolific performance during the 2016 edition of the event.

The 2016 Brazil GP was run under treacherous conditions where experienced drivers like Kimi Raikkonen, Felippe Massa, and, Sebastian Vettel were finding it difficult to keep their cars on the track, however, despite the challenges, an insanely young Max Verstappen was able to produce moves that are still remembered as one of the best in the history of the sport.

In 2016, Verstappen was still a young rookie who was learning his trade in the sport and while not much was expected of him under the wet conditions, he was able to pull off slick moves on the lights of Sebastian Vettel and Nico Rosberg.

Those moves were just some of the most aesthetic-looking moves as, under the wet conditions, the helicopter clips of Verstappen overtaking Vettel and Rosberg looked simply outrageous.

Moreover, Martin Brundle who was on commentary back then recognized the raw talent of the Dutchman while overtaking Rosberg and said, “What confidence, the boy just goes and finds grip everywhere else, okay you are going there, I’ll just go somewhere else, then boom P2.”

The 2016 Brazil GP was the point from where Max Verstappen’s F1 career really took off, as, during that race, he was able to showcase everything that he had in his arsenal of skills at that point in time.

Moreover, he ended his exploits in a brilliant P3 for the team, which could have been a P2 finish, had he not come into the pits for a change of tires. His pitstop allowed Nico Rosberg to get back into P2 but Verstappen deserved applause for the way he fought back to get back into the podium places.

While Lewis Hamilton came away from Brazil with maximum points on that occasion, it was the young Max Verstappen who stole the show and amassed quite a decent number of headlines.
