It’s been a year that Lando Norris was involved in an incident which shocked everyone. It was right before the British GP that the young Brit had gone to watch the Euro Finals between England and Italy. The match was a much anticipated one as England had been in blistering form and it was expected to be an even affair against the in form Italian side.

It ended up with Italy pipping the England team, which evaded the English fans from that much desired championship. But that wasn’t the only thing that went wrong that day. Their beloved driver, Lando Norris, was mugged after the match and his Richard Mille watch worth $40,000 pounds was stolen by assailants . This was reported by McLaren after it was confirmed.

What made it more shocking was the fact that there were many high profile celebrities watching the match and the security was expected to be top notch. But, unfortunately, there were lapse on the end of the police which allowed such an incident to happen. This definitely was a blow to Lando Norris ahead of his home race at Silverstone.

He had confirmed after the incident had taken place as to how much he was affected. He said, “The difficult thing is the shock of realising it can happen to anyone including yourself when you never think it will happen to you, or it’s a very slim chance.”

“The shock that you can still be vulnerable in any position, it’s a scary thing and I don’t wish it on anyone.“I have not been sleeping that great and I am feeling a bit sore.”

“You can think the best but I tend to always think the worst. Things like that are not nice, so to get my mind off it, focus on having a good weekend, seeing all the fans again is something I definitely look forward to.”

This was definitely an incident that no one saw coming but this should be a learning lesson. It becomes even more important when such a high profile member is involved.
