Max Verstappen won the race as he started on pole, George Russel after probably putting out one of the best laps was on P2 his first ever front row start and Lewis Hamilton, the title protagonist, was on P3. But with only 2 laps done, giving out points on regular basis would have affected the championship by some margin, anyway, the points difference between the two rivals was 5.

The spa incident was criticized by a lot of people, concerning the fact that wet tyres exist. With tyres that could remove many gallons of water with every second, the rain was no reason to stop the fun weekend many fans were wanting to see there, ultimately throwing their money off.
