“Where was that tow,” Red Bull was ousted by Ferrari as Max Verstappen does not receive a helping hand from Sergio Perez

Max Verstappen with Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez
The qualifying session at Paul Ricard turned out to be amazing for Charles Leclerc in his Ferrari as he scored a pole, but Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez start right behind him as Carlos Sainz has a grid penalty. Even with that penalty, Sainz set a blistering lap in Q2 which made him enter Q3, which was a part of the plan by Ferrari. Sainz would be starting the race from the back of the grid after changes in his car parts, but he was of much help to Leclerc as he helped his teammate power down the straight to give him the tow, twice.
Leclerc’s first lap with Sainz’s tow didn’t work out good enough, and Verstappen was only 0.008 seconds behind the Monegasque, however, during the second lap with the same strategy, the Ferraris absolutely burst out which gave Leclerc his pole position.
Something similar was expected from both the Red Bulls, but nothing like that was seen happening, and so, Verstappen lost pole from Leclerc by just a little bit, and the fans seemed to be pissed off as to why didn’t the team use a similar strategy like Ferrari.
Max Verstappen to start behind Charles Leclerc and beside Sergio Perez

The pole lap from Charles puts Ferrari on the front grid at Paul Ricard, which hasn’t happened in the last 32 years, as Nigel Mansell was the one who did it last back in 1990.
Now, as Verstappen starts P2, the fans are annoyed to an extent because he missed the perfect opportunity to start on pole.
