The Saudi Arabian GP is filled with a lot of incidents down the race. During the race start, Lando Norris had a potential jump-start to the race. The driver moved the chassis forward and stopped for a second only to restart driving the car as intended. Hence, Following this, George Russell immediately complained on the team radio about the mistake caused by Norris.
However, after investigating the incident, Lando Norris was not penalized for the mistake during the race start. There was no action taken by the stewards despite a clear indication of a ‘jump start’ from the cockpit camera. Hence, Will Buxton has shared his opinion on the entire incident and how the stewards turned a blind eye to the Briton.

Will Buxton asserted that Norris leaving the grid box wasn’t imperative, but his car moved before the start signal. Buxton recalled Article 48.1.a which states that any car movement before the start signal would be penalized respectively. However, the stewards potentially overlooked this article according to the journalist.
Doesn’t matter if lando left his box or not. Article 48.1.a states its movement before start signal. Should be a slam dunk. Will Buxton wrote on X

Lando Norris faces issues down the latter half of the Saudi Arabian GP
The McLaren challenger of Lando Norris seems to be potentially providing him with problems down the race. The Briton is hopeful of a competition with Lewis Hamilton down the race despite the issues faced. Woking sustained from a comparatively slow pit stop of 4.1s that will further cause issues to the driver down the race.

Additionally, Norris was seen moving and weaving under braking while battling it out with Hamilton for the eighth spot. Hence, the driver was facing multiple issues at the Saudi Arabian GP regardless of a great drive from the front. Regardless, the stewards overlooked Norris’ potential jump start and hence the driver takes a breath of relief during the race.
McLaren’s performance has been more or less on par with Mercedes in the 2024 season. Hence, a competition between the two teams might be possible if the team continues to minimize mistakes down the season. However, with the current performance of the duo at Brackley, the team would probably emerge victorious over McLaren in Formula 1.
