“Will take some serious beating,” Martin Brundle talks about Max Verstappen’s current supremacy in Formula 1
Max Verstappen
Max Verstappen has become a 2-time World Champion after the 2022 season, and F1 analyst, Martin Brundle has indicated that the Dutchman is driving at a level that would take some serious beating.
Martin Brundle has been around the sport for very several years and ardently believes, that it is going to be extremely difficult for the rest of the drivers, to get anywhere near Verstappen in the upcoming seasons.
The analyst is quite right in his assessment, as the 25-year-old absolutely decimated his competition this year. Moreover, on the back of his prolific performances, was able to win the Championship with a lead of 150 points over its nearest rival, Charles Leclerc.
Brundle, while talking about the same in his column, added, “A tale of numerous pole positions and victories along clever strategies, fast pit stops, and strong reliability.“
“Congratulations to them all at the track and in the factories, it was immense. Nothing can take away from the fact that they have had a completely dominant season.”
Martin Brundle feels Max Verstappen sets the bar high for his competitors
The 2022 F1 season has come to a close after the Abu Dhabi GP, and while the sport has gone into hibernation for a decent number of months, Brundle while stressing about Verstappen’s level added, ” I already described Verstappen’s driving style as ‘Michael Schumacher-esque.”
“It seemed however slow he was driving his car to preserve tires he was still pulling away from the field. Max is at a level which will take some serious beating in the next few seasons.”
Martin Brundle has showered massive praise on Max Verstappen, for the way he has driven in the last few seasons, but, hopes that any of the other teams would be able to put up a challenge against him next year.
He wants Ferrari, Mercedes, and even the mid-field teams like McLaren and Alpine to make a big step forward for 2023 but considering these teams’ fortunes this year, would they be able to make significant gains next year?
