Logan Sargeant, the Williams F1 driver, is in his rookie season this year and has struggled to get to grips with the FW45. Alex Albon has comfortably dominated him. Amidst the constant rumors of him getting replaced for 2024, James Vowels, the Williams team principal, has come forward and given his verdict on the situation.
Logan Sargeant had a lot of hype around him ahead of the 2023 season and was rated quite highly in the F1 paddock. However, since the beginning of the campaign, he has been unable to perform potently and is one of those few drivers who has not scored even a single point. Williams has admitted that they are closely monitoring the American’s situation and giving him as much support as possible.
While shedding light on the delicate situation of Sargeant during the ongoing campaign, James Vowels said in a video released by Williams F1, “Logan has very clear targets of what he has to hit before the end of the season, and we are working with him, we want him to succeed, and we want him in the car next year. This is very much on us as well.

“We´ve taken someone straight out of Formula 2, put him a day and a half in Bahrain in this car, and then wished them well on a season that has been challenging for rookie drivers full stop.” Looking at the comments of the Williams boss, it is pretty clear that Sargeant knows what he needs to achieve by the end of this year.

Logan Sargeant has made too many silly errors in 2023
While the Williams F1 team is fully prepared to back Logan Sargeant during the remainder of the 2023 season, the latter has found it extremely difficult to keep his car on track during Grand Prix weekends. He has crashed his FW45 quite a few times so far and, for that, has come under immense pressure from the vastly experienced pundits of the sport.
During the Japanese Grand Prix weekend, he brought an abrupt end to his qualifying outing when he lost control of his car coming out of a turn and crashed into the barriers. All such silly errors have hampered his campaign, and going forward; he seriously needs to iron out his mistakes to keep hold of his seat for the 2024 campaign.

Logan Sargeant is only 22 years old, and considering this, he has got enough leeway to try out certain things so far in the season. A lot of them have not worked out in his favor, and taking into account that only six races are remaining this year, all the events from the Qatar Grand Prix onwards will hold a lot of significance for the American driver.
