Christian Horner and Jos Verstappen

Jos Verstappen, former Formula 1 driver and Max Verstappen’s father still sees the room for improvement for the Red Bull racing team to work on. Max has been named the winner in 5 of the 8 races this season. He has taken the championship lead and now has increased to a very marginal difference. With the third 1-2 finish of the season, the red bull is now in full control of the championship.

Jos still managed to criticize the team for their qualifying result, the Bull has only managed to get on pole twice in 8 races, the rest belongs to the Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc. Jos points on the qualifying speed making it much more difficult for the team and drivers to dominate the race. Sergio in Baku managed a great move over Charles in turn 1 which later on forced him to use his tyres to an unavoidable extent hurting him later in the race.

“The only thing that’s still lacking is qualifying,Saturday you could see the frustration during the post-session interview because it’s not going yet like he wants it to. If they can sort out the qualifying, things will be easier for him.” he states.

Jos also took the streets as an example of the troubles the Austrian team is suffering on “On street circuits this is even more evident. There is less rubber and he has more difficulty to rotate the car quickly.” Jos continues to Verstappen

Ferrari is in great trouble before the half-season.

Red Bull ahead of Ferrari

Ferrari is now 80 points behind the table topper Red Bull, after a great start to the season, it’s now fully covered by the issues and mistakes the teams and drivers did in the last few races. Reliability issues are now on the terms of Ferrari engineers as a UNO reverse to the Red Bull in the first few races.

With Mercedes now closing the gap to Ferrari, it’s a tough situation the Italian team now sees themselves in. The driver’s championship is still on the line for the Ferrari men and Charles Leclerc, but Sergio Perez managed to over-take the Leclerc to take the second position in the Championship. This is the first time after 2011 when Red Bull has managed to get both of their drivers on the top.
