Nico Hulkenberg made his Formula 1 debut over a decade ago. The German driver has notoriously earned the record for the longest career in F1 with no podiums. The major reason for this was that the 36-year-old wasn’t provided with a dominant team. Hence, Hulkenberg opened up about his chances of scoring a seat in one of the top teams.

Nico Hulkenberg has driven for mediocre teams ever since his debut with Williams in 2010. Hulkenberg is currently driving in the Haas F1 team and has no hopes of a podium finish or a race win. When questioned about scoring a seat in one of the top teams, the German mentioned that he had ‘very low hopes’. Additionally, the 36-year-old joked that maybe in his next life, he might have a shot. This came after Fernando Alonso resigned with Aston Martin.

The hope is very low. Maybe in the next life, I don't think the trip will go there now.
Nico Hulkenberg said, as reported by speedweek.com.

Moreover, Hulkenberg emphasized that he didn’t need to get distracted regarding this situation. The 36-year-old claimed that all these talks during races would negatively impact his performance. The German declared that the talks about the future needed to be separated from his current campaign on the grid. It must be noted that Nico Hulkenberg has been rumored to be on Audi’s radar.

I've been through this a lot, and if that distracts you, it's bad for you as a driver and for business too. The talks about the future and the work on the route have to be separated.
Nico Hulkenberg noted.

Nico Hulkenberg confident about Haas’ chances of competing in the midfield

The Haas F1 team has been performing much better than expected during the 2024 campaign. Haas also scored its first points during the Saudi Arabian GP. Hulkenberg was confident about the team’s chances of competition during the 2024 season. The German explained that the American constructor had the ‘package’ to fight in the midfield with the rival teams after the team’s performance after the Japanese GP.

What I take from today is we have a package that we can fight the other midfield teams with and, to be honest, it felt even better than what I expected.

Nico Hulkenberg recalled that he suffered from headaches before the Suzuka race and didn’t expect it to go well. However, the race turned out to be much better than expected. Hence, the American team was optimistic about its prospects this year. The Haas F1 team is currently seventh in the constructors’ championship right behind RB.

I was having quite some headaches before the race, I didn't expect it that great. But it turned out much better. So you know, I take that one happily and I'm looking forward to more good races.
Nico Hulkenberg mentioned.

Haas seems to have the upper hand over the bottom end of the grid. Hence, the American team has a great chance of finally improving its Championship result after a string of woeful seasons. It seems that Nico Hulkenberg could bring in points consistently for Haas this year.
