Lewis Hamilton has suffered from an extremely woeful debut season with Ferrari in the 2025 season. Despite multiple attempts, the Briton failed to achieve even a podium finish in his very first year with Maranello. Hamilton insisted that he looked forward to going completely MIA over the winter break. Moreover, rumors have come up of the 40-year-old seeking to exit the Italian constructor early.

However, Lewis Hamilton‘s ex-teammate whom he shared a heated rivalry at Mercedes back in 2016, has sided with the former. Certainly, Nico Rosberg has seen it all for Hamilton in the couple of years he raced alongside him.

Though the current situation is extremely difficult for the 40-year-old, Rosberg believes that he shouldn’t call it quits anytime soon. Nico Rosberg issued some words of affirmation for Lewis Hamilton amid his abysmal campaign with Ferrari in 2025.

Rosberg clearly stated that Hamilton must continue racing for Maranello. The 2016 F1 champion reckoned that stopping now wouldn’t look cool for the latter. Further, the ex-F1 star stated that the seven-time champion had only been with Ferrari for one year, and to give up after just one season wouldn’t work.

I think he has to continue, Stopping now is not cool. He only just started this Ferrari project. To give up after only one season doesn’t work.

Nico Rosberg told Sky Sports F1.

Speaking on Lewis Hamilton’s chances to succeed in the new regulations of 2026, Nico Rosberg pointed out that the former must continue racing and hope to feel comfortable in racing under the new regulations. Rosberg reckoned that Hamilton’s biggest problem in the 2025 season was the lack of pace over one lap in the Ferrari challenger.

He has to continue, give it another shot and hope he feels comfortable in that next-year car. Maybe the car is a good car? This year’s car is not great. His great struggle this year was qualifying pace.

Nico Rosberg added.

Nico Rosberg reveals “flashes of brilliance” in Lewis Hamilton in 2025

Throughout the 2025 season, Lewis Hamilton’s best finish was only a sprint victory in China and P4 finishes in multiple races, including the British GP. The Briton did not even have a podium finish to his name, thus marking the worst season of his long career in Formula 1.

Though Nico Rosberg pinpointed the positives of the final year of the ground-effect era, and how the 40-year-old had some glimpses of positivity in 2025. Nico Rosberg declared that during races, there were flashes of brilliance from Lewis Hamilton. The Briton gained a lot of places come race day, but he felt they were meaningless, and his overall pace was poor.

Rosberg hoped for the car to be positive for Hamilton next year and help him find his old magic back again in Qualifying. The one-time champion believes that there is definitely hope for the 40-year-old regardless of the countless disappointments in the 2025 season.

In the race there was flashes of brilliance that we kept seeing. It’s just qualifying pace and with the car being so different next year, maybe he can find some of that old magic again in qualifying. The hope is still there, definitely.

Nico Rosberg noted.

Certainly, Lewis Hamilton is glad that he can finally put the entire 2025 season behind him. It hasn’t been a picture-perfect season for Hamilton in any sense. Regardless, the Briton hasn’t completely given up on his dream finish at Maranello. For now, the 40-year-old will take a step back during the winter break and take a much-needed break from Formula 1.
