Oliver Bearman surprised the entire paddock by producing a highly successful debut with Ferrari after replacing Carlos Sainz for the Saudi Arabian GP. The 19-year-old now has secured a seat for the upcoming 2025 season with the Haas F1 team. Recently Bearman was asked to name his childhood F1 hero, and he didn’t hesitate to snub Ferrari legend Michael Schumacher, despite being an Acadamy product of the team.
Oliver Bearman very much enjoyed watching Formula One closely since his childhood. The Briton grew up watching ex-champions like Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Sebastian Vettel. He even got the opportunity to see the Michael Schumacher driving on the grid with Mercedes, though he was way past his prime.
So, when asked about who is his F1 hero in a recent podcast appearance, he couldn’t see Schumacher as a hero, despite wanting to put the German in ‘hero connotations.’ Seeing Hamilton, Button and Vettel dominate, he had to idolize them. His snub was simply because of the era he was born into and the driver he saw pushing the cars’ limit.

He has got the perfect start to his career with the two-bonus outing and will be dreaming to take advantage of it earn the same success as Schumacher with Ferrari.
