Oscar Piastri has suffered from a streak of underwhelming performances in the final stages of the 2025 season. Amid his struggles, McLaren is being accused of a British bias as Lando Norris continues to dominate the track every race weekend. As such, Piastri had reposted a suggestive post on social media that talked about the British bias in the team, which he promptly deleted after a couple of hours.

Now, Oscar Piastri was questioned about the reasons and his thoughts behind the repost made on social media talking about the British bias at McLaren. However, the Aussie was at a loss for words and couldn’t exactly explain what happened and why it happened. Piastri tried to shrug it off by claiming that he wasn’t aware of the events that unfolded and saw it much later.

Oscar Piastri made a casual ‘don’t know’ remark when questioned about the exact reason behind the suggestive post made about the quotes of a British bias at McLaren. The Aussie reckoned that he found out about the matter much after it was already done, and when he woke up. Further, he reiterated that he was dumbfounded about the reasons behind the accidental repost.

Moreover, Oscar Piastri reckoned that he might have accidentally hit the repost button while trying to do something else on Instagram. He revealed that it obviously wasn’t intentional and he wasn’t trying to stir anything, especially at such a crucial stage in the championship. Ultimately, he reassured that he wasn’t aware of how and why it exactly happened. But, people definitely took a quick note of it and took it way out of proportion.

I don’t know, I woke up this morning and saw it, so I don’t know, maybe I accidentally did it. Obviously, it was not intentional. But yeah, I didn’t know what had happened. So I don’t know.

Oscar Piastri claims ‘things didn’t go his way’ at the Las Vegas GP Qualifying

The Aussie was good enough to only achieve a P5 start for the race at Sin City. As such, Pisatri lamented the issues that cost him a shot at pole position. Oscar Piastri candidly spoke that some factors were beyond his control at the Las Vegas GP Qualifying. Piastri reckoned that some things did not go his way, and there were definitely things that could have worked in his favor previously as well. As such, the Aussie revealed that his struggles on track weren’t a recurring thing anymore, which was a positive point.

It’s certainly not been the case for… in that session, yes, things didn’t go my way, but there’s been plenty of things that could have gone my way previously, so I don’t feel like it’s a kind of recurring theme, so to speak. A tough one to take when it looked like we were on for a good result. I can’t do much about it unfortunately.

The 2025 season only has two more races to go after the culmination of the Las Vegas GP. Piastri’s winning chances are certainly very less, but they are not none. The Aussie is currently 24 points shy of the championship lead and can make it up if things work out in his favor. However, time will tell if and when Piastri manages to regain the lost lead in the driver’s standings.
