Lando Norris has successfully bested his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri for the 2025 season driver’s title win. Despite dominating a majority of the season, Piastri failed to win the title against Norris. Certainly, the Briton would be feeling all the highs of having achieved such a coveted feat in the pinnacle of motorsport. However, Piastri reckoned that the 26-year-old hadn’t become a superman and wouldn’t change his personality in Formula 1.

Lando Norris is surely one of the more contrasting people on the F1 grid. Despite his positive performances this season, he received a lot of hate from the fans during race weekends. Still, the Briton did not pay attention to the noise and focused on his own performance. Moreover, after winning his first driver’s title, he isn’t going to change his personality, more so because Carlos Sainz will always be present to keep the former in check.

As such, even Oscar Piastri isn’t too concerned about Lando Norris changing now that he is a world champion. The Aussie reckoned that the team dynamic at McLaren, and treating both drivers equally, would still be their priority. Piastri believed that Norris achieved a great season all around the 2025 season and hence was truly a deserving driver’s title winner.

No, I don’t think so, I don’t think that will change anything, For me, he’s obviously had a great season this year and is a deserving champion.

Oscar Piastri said, as reported by RacingNews365.

Despite all the newfound success for Lando Norris, he was still himself at the end of the day. Oscar Piastri joked that the one-time champion hadn’t turned into Superman and brushed the title loss off, believing that it was just a title at the end of the day. Regardless of the circumstances in the 2025 season, Piastri was expecting full fairness and unbiasedness from McLaren in the upcoming seasons in Formula 1.

But he’s still Lando Norris – it’s not like he’s become Superman. I don’t think things will change with that. I’m expecting full fairness from the team and equality going forward. I don’t have any concerns that that will change at all.

Oscar Piastri claims Lando Norris “did a better job” than him

Oscar Piastri was leading the title fight for a majority of the season and only lost it in the final few race weekends. The Aussie suffered from a mysterious performance slump after returning from the summer break and couldn’t quite keep up with the winning pace. As such, Piastri did not hesitate to accept the harsh truth and move on from the disappointments in the 2025 season.

Speaking on losing the title win to Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri accepted that the former clearly had a very strong season in 2025, and won the title only because he deserved it. The Aussie made a shocking acceptance that Norris did a better job than him at McLaren and hence won the championship in the end. Certainly, the 26-year-old performed when it mattered the most and clinched an impressive title win this season.

Clearly, Lando has had a very strong season this year, and ultimately did a better job.

Oscar Piastri noted.

The 2025 season is now in the books, and it has been quite the journey. The season saw it all, from the shocking downfall of drivers to the unexpected resurgence in performance for others, especially Max Verstappen.

Despite the thick and thin, Lando Norris came out on top and won the driver’s title by a mere 2-point lead over Verstappen. As such, the Briton will enjoy the highs of winning the championship over the winter break and hope to emerge as an even better force in the new regulations of 2026.
