McLaren have emerged as the favorites for the 2024 title following the team’s rise in performance this season. The Woking-based squad has already surpassed Red Bull in the standings. However, Oscar Piastri urged his team to keep working hard despite the recent results.

The Australian driver highlighted that the British team was on its way to lead the Constructors’ Championship for a while. Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri have won multiple races courtesy of the MCL38 so far this year. Piastri noted that the MCL38 was a really quick car.

Clearly in the constructors’ the trajectory has been in the right direction for a long time now. We’ve clearly got a quick car underneath us

Moreover, Oscar Piastri pointed out that the team has consistently scored points in all rounds. As such, the Australian reckoned that McLaren had been doing a great job this season. However, Piastri warned his team to not take this for granted as things could quickly turn around.

We’ve got both of us scoring big points consistently. So I feel like we’re doing a good job as a team but you can never take for granted how quickly things can turn around.

The Singapore GP was a good weekend for McLaren. Lando Norris took a dominant victory against title rival Max Verstappen. While Piastri managed to finish in third place. The Australian driver highlighted that he took lessons from the race for the 2025 season after his team had a great points haul in Marina Bay.

It’s a massive points haul for us, and I feel like I learned some good lessons for next year as well.

Certainly, Oscar Piastri remains confident about McLaren’s prospects. Although the 23-year-old has taken a step back to support Norris’ championship bid against Verstappen, he continues to push every weekend. As such, fans could expect to see Piastri potentially bag a few more wins in the last six races.
