Oscar Piastri claims Zak Brown and Andrea Stella have completely different personalities when it comes to leading McLaren.

Oscar Piastri’s exceptional performance in 2024 made him the seventh race winner of the season. The Australian has put a lot of effort into his performance, demonstrating his capabilities. In the recent race in Hungary, he finished on pole and clinched P2 in Belgium. However, Piastri stated that Andrea Stella and the whole team, not just his efforts, contributed to his success.
Oscar Piastri in a recent interview stated that team principal Andrea Stella has played a crucial role in both McLaren’s and his own success and often gets praised by him. He appreciated Stella working as the team principal, because of him the team has experienced a whole different energy. The Italians guidance and support in achieving Piastri goals have been essential. The Australian found it very rewarding working with the 53-year-old, and valued the positive impact he had brought.

Further, Piastri also mentioned he also gets along with CEO Zak Brown too. Being in the team for a long time he noted that Stella and Brown have quite different personalities. However, he believed that having such contrasting personalities creates a good balance within the team. This balance creates a more effective team dynamic and helps the team share their thoughts about performance and improvements.

Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris have been teammates at McLaren for a long time. Piastri admitted that they work effectively together and get along well. The Australian highlighted that both he and Norris focus on beating each other in races. Despite being teammates, they each follow their own journey and need to compete to win the world championship. The 23-year-old emphasized that, although they maintain a friendly relationship, their strong desire to win is a normal part of their racing mentality.
With Lando, we're obviously team-mates and we get along well, we work together very well, but of course we want to beat each other. It's how racing drivers are, full stop. But we get along well.Oscar Piastri stated.
