Red Bull has proven a bit powerless on track since the 2024 Spanish Grand Prix. Formula 1 will return to action after the ongoing summer break, and the Milton-Keynes-based team will have to try their best to bounce back to winning ways.
The Max Verstappen-led outfit leads the title race this year, winning seven races and amassing 13 podiums. But the reigning world champions have looked vulnerable on multiple occasions, which is a cause for concern for them heading into Zandvoort.
Verstappen has once again been the main man behind the team’s victories this season. The Dutchman has consecutively won on his home soil but will be wary of his chances this time around.
It is difficult to estimate how quickly that will happen. I don't think that the big solution will come in Zandvoort. We are brainstorming intensively and have various ideas, but I can't say yet what we will implement and how.Helmut Marko via SPEEDWEEK
The Milton-Keynes outfit has claimed that a concrete solution for the RB20’s struggles will not be found in time for the Dutch GP. This leaves Verstappen out on his own, as he will try to maximize his pace to secure points and podiums.
Max Verstappen says rival teams are ahead of Red Bull this season
Max Verstappen finished the Belgian Grand Prix in P4, putting in a commendable drive after having started P11. Verstappen has since shared his thoughts on Red Bull’s performance, particularly against McLaren and Mercedes.
I think they are ahead of us. It depends. Sometimes McLaren, sometimes Mercedes.Max Verstappen said to SkySports F1
The two teams have been victorious in all the races since Red Bull’s triumph in Barcelona. McLaren and Mercedes have looked formidably better adapted and faster than the Milton-Keynes-based team in the past few weeks.
Verstappen has therefore admitted to his team being behind McLaren and Mercedes in terms of performance. The 26-year-old will now try his best to keep an advantage in the title race as he eyes a fourth consecutive win at Zandvoort.
