Red Bull Team Principal, Christian Horner has applauded Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton after his massive win at the British Grand Prix. Hamilton won for the very first time on Sunday since his 2021 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix triumph.
Red Bull has been one of the most dominant teams in Formula One since the start of 2022. The Milton-Keynes outfit has led the championship this campaign and is still the team to beat despite facing tough competition from the likes of McLaren, Mercedes, and Ferrari.

However, Christian Horner, on behalf of Red Bull, acknowledged the strong performance put on by Lewis Hamilton despite losing to the Brit at Silverstone. Horner claimed that Hamilton’s performance was worthy of winning the race and that the 39-year-old deserved his win after a long hiatus.
I thought Lewis drove a very good race. He is a deserving winner. He can be very proud of that. And we take our hats off to him and his performance.Christian Horner via Motorsport-Total
Red Bull and Mercedes have been sworn rivals, battling neck-and-neck for race wins throughout their history. But the two teams have always shared a bond of respect, an instance of which was seen at the British Grand Prix.
Christian Horner claims Sergio Perez’s form is unsustainable for Red Bull
Sergio Perez finished P18 at the British Grand Prix, failing to improve on any significant terms for Red Bull in an already disappointing season for the Mexican. Following Perez’s poor performance at Silverstone, Christian Horner spoke on the need for the 34-year-old to find his form to honor his contract extension which he signed earlier this year.

He knows it’s unsustainable to not be scoring points. We have to be scoring points in that car and he knows that. He knows his role and his target, so nobody is more eager than Checo to find his form again.Christian Horner via motorsport
Sergio Perez has now scored just 11 points in the last five races entailing the worst spell for the six-time race winner. Horner has thereafter claimed that Perez desperately needs to find form and score points to meet the requirements of the performance clauses in his contract.
Christian Horner earlier opened up on the details of the 34-year-old’s contract, claiming that in the event of continuous underperformance, Perez is liable to be replaced. Therefore, the Mexican driver has to perform well for Red Bull to honor the expectations of his team and his contract.
