Red Bull hell-bent on ‘defending both championships’ in the second half of 2024

The Red Bull F1 team has had an extremely bumpy first half of the 2024 season. While the outfit is leading both world championships, the gap to rival outfits/drivers is not big enough to be at ease.
In recent times, this has been acknowledged by various top personalities on the team and the latest to join that list is Red Bull’s Chief Engineer, Paul Monaghan. The Brit feels the outfit is in a bit of a pickle but despite this has everything at its disposal to defend both F1 titles.
McLaren is currently 42 points behind Red Bull in the Constructors standings and the gap in the driver’s tussle is not big as well.
One suspects quite difficult. I think the next 10 races will be quite tight. I know, with all vigor, we will defend both championships as best we can. Obviously, we're dependent on Max and Checo as well.Paul Monaghan via Racingnews365
He further went on to add the following:
But they're committed into this team, as far as I'm aware, as you see, and you talk to them, and we've got to pull together, stay together and get the best out of everything we've got. We want to defend the championships.Paul Monaghan via the same interview
Looking at the reaction of the Brit, he has emphasized two things. One, the behind-scenes crew at Red Bull has to do a better job, and second, Max Verstappen and particularly Sergio Perez have to start pulling their weight a bit more. The latter had a horrendous run during the first half of the 2024 season.
McLaren eyeing ‘both’ championships against Red Bull
While Monaghan has urged his team to get its act together ahead of the second half, McLaren has been at it in terms of firing verbal warnings. Its CEO Zak Brown has recently admitted that his team will hunt Red Bull in both championships.

The ongoing campaign has only 10 races remaining on the F1 calendar.
They are both priorities, because ultimately to win the constructors' we need our two drivers to be as high up as possible. I'd like to see both drivers in the top three. We've got second and fourth right now, and the closer we get to the drivers', the closer that'll get us to the constructors. So we're going for both because all points count.Zak Brown via Sky Sports F1
Red Bull has been the ‘top dog’ at the pinnacle of motor racing since 2022. The ground-effect era has proved incredibly kind to them, but the way rival teams are making progress this season, the second half could prove to be too big a challenge for Verstappen and his team. Considering everything, the world will be glued to their TV sets for the remaining races of the 2024 F1 season.
