Red Bull's inconsistency can be largely attributed to Sergio Perez' up-and-down form this season.

Red Bull Technical Advisor Helmut Marko has praised McLaren for their strong run of form in the 2024 F1 season. The Papayas currently lead the constructors’ championship by 41 points to the Milton-Keynes-based team.

McLaren has been a formidable force with a talented lineup comprising of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. The duo has secured a total of five race wins along with 18 podiums so far this campaign. Red Bull, on the other hand, has been shaky in their efforts and has failed to win in any of the last eight races.

In line with this, Helmut Marko has claimed that the Woking-based team has a stronger driver lineup as compared to the Milton-Keynes outfit. The Papayas have now secured a podium or a win in every race since the Chinese GP this year.

Formula 1 heads into the last six races with an open championship battle between the two teams. Both Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will now seek to perform even better in cementing their team’s chances for the first time since 1998.

Helmut Marko shares his thoughts on Sergio Perez’ current form with Red Bull

Red Bull driver Sergio Perez has been on a rough spell ever since the start of the 2023 season. Once a reliable driver, Perez has now proved unpredictable in his performances, failing to notch a single win since Baku last year.

Perez’s results fluctuate, we know that. Especially when the car is changed in a short time, he needs more time to adapt. In terms of speed, Perez can do it. He just performs intermittently and that is becoming more and more unpredictable.

Helmut Marko has backed Sergio Perez‘s pace despite his shaky form for the reigning world champions. The 81-year-old then stated that Perez finds it difficult to adapt, which has been a major concern for the team.

The 34-year-old is currently on a contract with Red Bull until the end of the 2026 season. Perez, however, needs to perform well if he wishes to stay with the Austrian team until the end of his tenure.
