Red Bull’s F1 livery has remained largely the same since the 2016 season. Ahead of the 2025 season, Milton Keynes has hinted at a major change in its design for the first time in almost a decade. Reportedly, Max Verstappen is behind the big decision to switch colors.

Red Bull will reveal the alleged new livery at the F1 75 event in London’s O2 on 18th February. However, Milton Keynes will reveal the design in a shakedown ahead of pre-season testing. The team made a cryptic post on Instagram, showcasing the livery reveal date and presumably RB21 in the background. A similar color palette to RB’s livery from 2020 to 2023 is visible, hinting at a clear livery redesign.

One week until that new car smell.

Max Verstappen had previously noted that there were an excess of matte-blue cars on the track, with a lack of uniqueness. The 27-year-old had ‘hoped’ for Red Bull’s livery to be different for the 2025 season. Verstappen aimed to ‘spice things up’ following the switch in livery for the Austrian constructor.

The livery, I hope it’s a bit different, we’ve had so many matte-blue cars, but I think sometimes it’s just nice to spice it up a little bit.

Red Bull must find improvement in their 2024 season to enable Verstappen’s championship chances. The team is already undergoing a massive personnel change and must find stability. The coming season could prove difficult for Milton Keynes as the Dutchman aims to continue his winning streak.
