Williams Racing driver Franco Colapinto is one of the most burning prospects on the current Formula 1 grid. Colapinto made his debut for the Grove-based team at the Italian GP, replacing an underperforming Logan Sargeant. The Argentinian impressed everyone by securing points in only his second-ever race.
Colapinto’s performances have reportedly lured the attention of Red Bull. The Milton-Keynes-based team has been heavily affected by Sergio Perez‘s performances since the start of the 2023 season. Perez currently has a contract until 2026 but has failed to meet Red Bull’s performance expectations.
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has spoken about wanting to sign Colapinto in the coming seasons. Recently, it was reported that the 21-year-old would sign for the junior RB team before racing alongside Max Verstappen in the main team.
However, as per the most recent rumors (LWOS), the Milton-Keynes-based team is currently in advanced talks with Williams Racing regarding a move for Colapinto for 2025. With no vacant seats remaining for next year, Red Bull might be the Argentine’s last hope. He must therefore continue to deliver utterly good performances from here on.
F1 steward says Max Verstappen was motivated by shortfalls at the Brazilian GP
F1 pundit Johnny Herbert has shared his thoughts on Max Verstappen‘s stellar win at Interlagos last weekend. Verstappen climbed 17 places from the back of the grid to claim his eighth win of the campaign.
Herbert has deemed Verstappen an utterly motivated driver in light of his performance at Interlagos. He claims that the 27-year-old’s failure to qualify for Q3 in qualifying prepared him in a greater manner for the race. Verstappen ended his four-month-long winless streak as well after crossing the finish line in Brazil.
Verstappen leads the drivers’ championship with 393 points to his name so far this season. He will now be keen on maintaining the same form to win his fourth consecutive drivers’ championship title at the end of this year.
