Max Verstappen the three-time world champion, has been the kingpin at the pinnacle of motor racing for quite a few years. He has downright annihilated his competition and has pretty much operated in a league of his own.

While Max Verstappen has come across stiff competition during the ongoing campaign, this has not stopped Red Bull’s technical director, Pierre Wache, from showering massive praise on him. The Frenchman is so impressed with Verstappen that he has put him in the same category as that of sporting legends like Roger Federer and Michael Jordan.

Verstappen triumphed in an insane 19 Grand Prix out of a possible 22 last year.

Why is he so special? Because he’s like all legends in every sport. Some people are capable of doing things that no one else can replicate. I don’t know how he does it, but that’s what he can do. Max is like Roger Federer and Michael Jordan. These types of athletes are able to do things that no one else can do. His feedback is very interesting, because he manages the car at the limit, like no one else does.

Wache via his comments, has left no stone unturned in applauding the reigning world champion. Federer and Jordan are huge names in the world of sports and to get compared to them just at the age of 26 is a huge feat for Verstappen.

Red Bull eyeing to make RB20 quicker as per Sergio Perez’ preference

While Verstappen has recently received tremendous applause from Wache, Red Bull is looking to improve the RB20 in a way that Sergio Perez is also able to extract the maximum out of it. The latter was nowhere near the Dutchman’s level in the first part of the ongoing campaign.

As things stand, Perez is in seventh place in the Drivers standings.

If we make the car quicker in a way that Checo can use it, that means that both drivers will be able to extract the maximum out of it. Even if both drivers have different needs or preferences, the requirements for the car are still very similar.

The 2024 F1 season has 10 races remaining on the calendar. McLaren and Mercedes are in hot pursuit of Red Bull in the standings and considering this, it is of utmost importance that Perez also starts delivering in the second half. Otherwise, the Milton-Keynes-based team could really lose out on the coveted Constructors Championship.
